Lokpriya Janhit Sewa Sansthan is a voluntary organization, registered in year 1997 under the Society registration Act 1860. LJSS is a voluntary development organization committed for people centred development established on 29 th March 1978 with the mission of empowering the dalits, women, poors, marginalized, children and old aged community people. LJSS  is a not for profit, non-governmental civil society organization, which believes in participatory approaches and practices participatory methodologies for empowering the rural and urban community.

LJSS  established by a group of young & dynamic citizens with professional background like advocate , doctors , professor , social Works from District itself,  who have deep social concern and commitment for social change processes. We focus on mobilizing the community; educating them and sharing right information which would give them an advantage in their social economic and political live and liberate them from all injustice, vulnerability and marginalization.

Mission

To educate, organize and empower the poor, dalits, women and children who would in future act as a catalyst in promoting gender quality, justice, economic growth and self-reliance.

Programmes

Current Programmes

  • LJSS is working in Lalganj block of district Pratapgarh of eastern UP in 20 GPs of Lalganj block (ERW area) facilitating Nari Sangh (CBOs) to address the issues related to their rights and entitlements.
  • Empowering of Rural Women through community mobilization.
  • The Legal Literacy and Legal Awareness Camps undertaken To empower the poor Rural Women and disadvantaged sections of society to seek and demand justice services under kind direction of DLSA Pratapgarh.
  • LJSS has been doing Court advocacy free of cost for Nari Sangh and their Family against domestic violence and family disputes, he provides Emotional support to the victim and also Provide Assistance in contacting police and Protection Officer (Domestic Violence )/Dowry Prohibition Officer for Nari Sangh.

  • Women’s Self Help Group- Bank Linkage Programme  For organizing, nurturing and enabling credit linkage of women SHGs.
  • ERW Programme (Empowering Rural Women)
  • Collectivization of women, Participation of women in local governance system,   Realization of wage entitlement under NREGA, Regularization of PDS, Realization of Other entitlements and also leadership development.
  • Community Health Programme: To Improved maternal, adolescent and child health status in community with functional government health service structure and Village Health and Sanitation Committee.
  • AXSHYA –TB Prevention Project: To promote early case detection and management of TB patients through active case finding.
  • Cultural Function and production Grant (CFPG):To Promotion of Art and Culture.
